1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using EpubGraph ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License Grant

EpubGraph is provided under the MIT License. You are granted a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, subject to the conditions outlined in the License page.

3. User Data & Privacy

EpubGraph operates entirely on your local machine. The Software:

Does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers
Does not require an internet connection for core functionality
Stores all library data locally in a SQLite database on your device
Connects to a local Ollama instance (if configured) for AI features — no data leaves your machine

4. File Handling

EpubGraph uses a pointer-based storage model:

The Software creates references to your EPUB files but does not copy them
The "Delete" function sends files to your operating system's Trash/Recycle Bin (recoverable)
The Software reads from Calibre databases but never modifies them
Cover images may be cached locally for performance

5. Third-Party Services

EpubGraph optionally integrates with:

Ollama — local AI inference engine (separate software with its own license)
Calibre — ebook management software (read-only integration)

These are independent projects. EpubGraph is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ollama or Calibre.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

8. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
